Music video analysis - Ideas for our music video



Alexandra Burke "Hallelujah" music video

This music video has influeneced us for our one because of the layout of the shots. We want our artist to been seen in a room on her own singing directly to the camera. Alexandra Burke is seen in a similar way in a room full of candles. There is also a set of story line shots in the Hallelujah video. We want to make a storyline in our music video too. The video plays to its genre characteristics, the song is a slow ballad type so the camera movements are slow and the use of fading shots in and out of each other add to the dramatic theme. The video illustrates the lyrics vaguley. The candles link to the name of the song 'Hallelujah' because they are both linked to a 'holy' theme. The demands of the record label have obviously asked for there to be alot of close up shots of the artists face as she is a new artist in the industry. We want lots of close up shots of our artist for similar reasons.
