Boy Bands- common conventions

By viewing a few videos of boy groups like One Direction, Maroon 5 and Snow Patrol Ive noticed most of their videos feature girls e.g. Got To Be You by One Direction shows the boys with a group of girls and it shows them singing/ performing to them. Which leads on to another familiar theme, most boy band videos contain a performance in some way or another e.g Snow Patrol- Just say yes it show the performing to themselves the entire video and in One Thing by One Direction it shows them performing to fans. Boy bands seem to involve a comedy factor in their videos a lot more compared to girl groups and they also seem to follow more of a story.
