Twitter update

This is a screen grab of people I have followed on Twitter hoping they will follow our artist back. They are mostly girls beween the ages of 13 and 19 and they are all a fan of pop music.

 

This is a screen shot of Katy Perrys Twitter page. I went on here because I wanted to see what other female artists Tweet about and what sort of following they have. I found that most of her tweets are about what she is doing and what she plans to do with ocassional updates on her music/ career. At the moment she is also promoting Barack Obama for the 2012 Presidential elections in the USA, spreading her views on political issues, for example she tweeted this picture with Michelle Obama after she had spent the evening having dinner with her.  She has over 28 million followers on Twitter all of which are an even spread of males and females, slightly different to our target audience as we believe our artis would mostly attract females.

 

This is a screen shot of Leona Lewis' Twitter pages, she has almost 800,000 followers. I expected her to have more than this because she has sold over 10 million albums world wide. This may be because she has an audience that dont tend to use social media sights. But the followers she has are mostly femail. Similar to the audience we aim to attract.

 

 

This is Rita Ora's Twitter page. I didnt expect her to have over 1 and a half million followers as she is a fairly new artist within the  industry where as Leona Lewis has been around since 2008. Though Rita appeals to a younger audience who are most likely to be using social media sites. Her followers are again a mix between male and female though are heavily made up of females.
