What does a music video do?
- A music video helps promote an artist/ band- getting them exposure on both the television and the internet e.g Youtube
- It can allow an artist to create an identity and image- a star persona
- Can give an understanding to a song or create a meaning/ story
How does it do this?
- By having a music video the message of a song can become more obvious helping people connect with the lyrics and in some cases the artist creating empathy
- By showing an artist in a video they are able to create an image through their actions, looks (costume) and the general way they present their self.
- Can promote a song by allowing it to get more publicity as it is played on TV and the internet.
